Annual Meeting - The NCFA's Annual Meeting returns to the Piedmont region this year as it heads to the Pinehurst Resort on October 27-29, 2010. The format for the meeting is patterned after last year’s meeting. The North Carolina Tree Farm continue its affiliation with the NCFA Annual Meeting in 2010. The Tree Farm meeting kicks on Tuesday night, October 26th with a reception and awards dinner. On Wednesday, a field tour of an area Tree Farm is the featured activity. Room rates at the Pinehurst Resort are $159 for NCFA members and North Carolina Tree Farmers. Annual Meeting took place on October 7-9, 2009 at the Myrtle Beach Marriot Resort at Grande Dunes. Forestry Day in the Legislature - The evening prior to Forestry Day, Monday, May 24th, the Friends of Forestry Political Action Committee (FFPAC) will conduct its reverse raffle. The reverse raffle party takes place at the Brownstone Hotel and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are drawn and the last ticket drawn is the winner, unless the last ticket holders decide to split the pot. The NCFA’s Forestry Day in the Legislature is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 on the Halifax Mall in Raleigh. The morning briefing session starts at 9:30 a.m. and then members will visit with their elected officials. The lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. Carolina Log'N Demo - The Carolina Log'N Demo took place on August 15, 2009 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The date and location for the 2011 event has not been set. Forestry & Environmental Camps - Camps were completed in Raleigh, Greensboro, Wilkesboro and Wilmington in 2009. Dates for 2010 have not been established. Teacher Academies - One Teacher Acacemy was conducted this year in Asheville.
