Forestry and Environmental Camps are on site field trips that allow students to become junior foresters and nature resource professionals for a day. Middle and high school students learn topics such as wildlife, dendrology, forest products, and mapping to explore a nearby park or green space. All lessons and activities are taught by professionals working in the field which gives students the unique opportunity to learn skills and use tools needed for a career in the environment.

When Forestry and Environmental Camp are scheduled for the year, NCFA will look to our local forestry communities for volunteers! We are in need of forestry, natural resource professionals, and environmental educators to volunteer to lead our rotational activities and lesson plans to students. Activities are focused on forestry and environmental education; which cover topics on wildlife, dendrology, forest products, soils, compass work, mapping, and tree measurement. NCFA will provide the lesson plans and materials we just need you! See the schedule below for upcoming camp dates and registration links. Please note that you are not required to volunteer the entire the week. Any time that you can spare would be appreciated
If you are unable to volunteer, please share these volunteer opportunities with your colleagues. NCFA would like to highlight a variety of careers that students can pursue working outdoors and with natural resources.
