Base Course - New ProLoggers

“This was a great class with tons of beneficial information. Thank you John Hatcher and presenters for organizing this course!”

Bradley Kohn, Managing Partner at Bruce Allen Construction Company

The NCFA hosts three base ProLogger Base Courses each year. These base courses are held in the eastern, central, and western parts of the state operating on a two-day schedule.

The first day and a half is held in a seminar setting at a local community college. The first day begins at 8:30am and runs until 5:00pm; lunch is on your own. Contributing instructors from Forestry Mutual Insurance Company, the North Carolina Department of Labor, the North Carolina Forest Service, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, the North Carolina Highway Patrol (Division of Motor Carriers), and the North Carolina Sustainable Forestry Initiative State Implementation Committee.

The second day will combine some classroom instruction in the morning, followed by a visit to an active logging job, where lunch will be provided. Representatives from Forestry Mutual Insurance Company, the North Carolina Department of Labor, and the North Carolina Forest Service make field presentations.

For those loggers who would like to become ProLoggers, they can call or submit a registration form to the NCFA office either online below, by mail, or fax. By sending in this registration form, loggers are added to the NCFA’s ProLogger “Hold List” that some companies request if a logger is to deliver wood.
