FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WILMINGTON, NC (SEPTEMBER 18, 2024) – The North Carolina Forestry Association (NCFA) will host its annual meeting Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26 at the Wilmington Convention Center in Wilmington, NC. This year’s theme is Forestry Horizons: Navigating Challenges, Seizing Opportunities.

The NCFA Annual Meeting gathers members from across the state, representing various business functions of the forestry and forest products industry, from forest managers, landowners, mill operators, loggers, and more.

“The NCFA Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to bring our members together to engage in thoughtful discussions and learn from the best regarding the state of our industry,” said NCFA Executive Director, John Hatcher, Ph.D. “[We] are always looking for ways to enhance our members’ experience and provide them with useful tools and resources. The Annual Meeting is just one of many events where our members can network with their peers and gain valuable knowledge about the forestry and forest products industry.”

This year’s meeting will kick off with a keynote presentation by Pete Stewart, CEO of ResourceWise, followed by a variety of forestry industry experts who will share impactful presentations on the state of forestry in North Carolina, the status of freight logistics locally and overseas, the importance of environmental education and workforce development in our schools, and the steady rise of cross-laminated timber innovations in the U.S. and beyond. The meeting will also feature two panel discussions surrounding the outlook of forest management in coastal NC and the state’s political landscape. A detailed agenda can be found on our website.

Media members are welcome to attend and can reach out to Jeanne Harmor for more information.
